Lady Cemetery is a family family cemetery. Everyone buried inside the cemetery is related in someway. The graves at the back of the cemetery were once separated from the main one by a fence. Suppposedly those graves belong to the Lady family slaves.

Family lore says the two graves outside the main burial ground and facing Eddyville Pen belongs to 2 prisoners who could see Lady Cemetery from their cells. They ask to be buried there and Edd Lawrence gave permission for them to be buried outside the family sites. No documentation yet.

Surnames include Bonner, Clevidence, Hardy, Lady, Lawrence, Martin, Noles, and Walls to name a few.

There is also a second Lady Cemetery in the woods before one reaches this Lady Cemetery. It contains the family of Robert Lady, a brother to Henry Lady who was buried in the cemetery.

In response to a question ask Sunday at my aunt's funeral, there was never a homeplace on the site of the cemetery. There is, however, an old well that has been filled in. The old road the leads into the water on either side once connected the Lady homeplaces.
